As admissions to the top colleges becomes more and more competitive, students are looking for ways to stand out above the crowd in the admissions process. NU Alum Margo Bartsch created a company called College Essay Coach which helps prospective students develop their personal essays for college admissions. She was recently profiled in an article in The Chronicle of Higher Education.

Margo's background is in marketing communications. She was Vice President of Advertising, Marketing Communications and Corporate Public Relations at Prodigy Internet. She helped take Prodigy public in 1991. Margo earned her B.A. in Economics and her M.S.J. from the Integrated Marketing Communications program at Medill. As she told The Chronicle, there are many similarities between marketing one's self and marketing a product. It's all about the emotions that the brand's story evokes.
