Good Readers Pave the Way to Good Writers

The Wake Forest University 2025-26 application has five additional essay prompts with on asking: "List five books that you have read that intrigue you. (Spaces have been left for you to include each book's title and author and maker whether the selection was required or not required)."

Why has this essay prompt been on Wake Forest's application for more than 20 years? The reason is that many students spend less time reading a variety of books in the classroom and even less time reading for fun. . . .
